About

ZUZUKA PODEROSA is an Indo Sur America artist making music of the diaspora in cosmic new ways. Born in Espirito Santo, Brazil to a Brazilian mother and Indonesian father, she grew up in Rio and spent her formative years in the West Indies. Later, she studied Vocal Jazz improvisation in New York City while she worked on her music and poetry. She has since remained in New York City and successfully grew the underground Baile Funk and Global Bass scene. In her music she raps and sings in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and “Body Language” which she masterfully sets over booming electric beats and Latin percussion.

"It took mere minutes for Zuzuka to get the 2.000-plus crowd up on their feet."
